The children who wait....and wait.......and wait

I recently found this poem, my heart aches for each child waiting for their forever family.
I can only imagine what goes through the mind of child when no one comes for them....when they have been left behind. I am forever grateful Sarah's waiting will soon end and she will know she has been chosen.

The Waiting Child
by Debbie Bodie

I saw you meet your child today
You kissed your baby joyfully
And as you walked away with her
I played pretend you'd chosen me.

I'm happy for the baby,
Inside I'm aching miserably
I want to plead as you go by,
"Does no-one want a child of three?"

I saw you meet your child today
In love with her before you met
And as I watched you take her out
I knew it wasn't my turn yet.

I recognize you from last year!
I knew I'd seen your face before!
But you came for a second babe.
Does no-one want a child of four?

I saw you meet your child today
But this time there was something new
A nurse came in and took MY hand
And then she gave my hand to you.

Can this be true? I'm almost six!
And there are infants here you see?
But then you kissed me and I knew
The child you chose this time was me.

Wow! Cheri. What a poem. You have to wonder what goes on in these precious children's minds. God protects them...I know. I pray for our little ones that he will let them know that they have forever families waiting to show them love and hold them close. It's not going to be much longer!! Praise God. This journey is amazing...but the wait is hard! We're thinking of you guys and are thankful for your support and prayers of us to, as we wait for Sadie. We hope you have a blessed weekend!
Love,
Buffi
